Mr. Ruben Navarrette usually contributes to CNN commentary posts. This morning's post really hits home with me and I'm sure many of you.

I was totally in agreement with him and felt compelled to email him on his choice to speak out.

Mr. Navarrette,

I just read your commentary on the CNN web site. I would like to congratulate you on being clear-minded with regard to Senator McCain’s choice of jumping to Washington to handle our economic crisis. Since this is a serious issue that America is currently contending with, and that the next President must continue to contend with, it should be placed at the top of the priority list of one’s “multi-task” list.

To be frank, I am a McCain supporter and I have issues with everyone trying to place blame on him for being a leader. There are times within life that certain items must take precedence over self adulation. This is one of those times! Mr. McCain has placed his bid for the Presidency in jeopardy in order to provide the American people with the necessary leadership required to get us through this crisis with, hopefully, as little impact to the taxpayer as possible. One can only assume that he has the best interests of the American people at heart. Mr. Obama, has done the reverse and sided with the Mr. Reid, President Bush and Secretary Paulson on this one. Who’s Bush III now?

A 3 A.M. call came in to Mr. Obama. He promptly picked up the handset and placed it on the nightstand in order to catch a few more Z’s.

Can we afford someone in the White House who can’t anticipate when to step in and take control? You know, actually be a leader?

Again I thank you for this post.

Kind Regards
